Lists, once set up, have a mind of their own.

I'd tend to agree with Dan, that they've probably got a full (or even
stuck) mail queue on their mailing list system.

If you read the lists frequented by those of us who run mailing lists
you'd notice that running lists is NOT an exact science, though of
course it should be.

I've been running the qube-users list for some time now, and it's
nowhere near a "large" list. I still run it on Majordomo/Sendmail (in
fact I still run it on a RaQ), but probably not for much longer; I'm
probably going to build a mailing-list-only computer, and when I do,
move all my Linux/unix-based lists on it. It won't be a RaQ. It won't
run sendmail, and it won't run majordomo. I've already got a system
whic basically doesn't do anything except run W2K-based lists, but you
wouldn't want me to run a Cobalt list on that, would you <smile>?

I suppose I _could_ create another cobalt-users type list, but I really
think that would only fraction the community, and give us more places to
need to look, so I've not done it.

(And of course it wouldn't get a lot of new members without a lot of
prospecting.)

Now, if Cobalt wants to outsource the lists, I'd be happy to run them,
as my outreach to the Cobalt community, either at my domain, or at
list.cobalt.com.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that one of our downloads has fixed
the majordomo implementation so the lists can now be modified by email,
and won't get written over by the majordomo gui. Is that true, or have
I been imbibing too much <wry grin>?
