Somewhat belatedly, I want to apply some updates to my RaQ4r. I have only
installed Webalizer on the machine, and am not very familiar with the
procedures.
Before applying the BIND Update 1.0.1, I gather I need OS Update 1.0. I
tried to apply the latter by pasting:
http://ftp.cobalt.com/pub/packages/raq4/eng/RaQ4-en-OSUpdate-1.0.pkg
into the Server Management - Install Software - URL field, and clicking
Install a '.pkg' Package
(I'm giving all the details in case I'm making some very basic mistake).
After a few seconds the process stopped - the update was clearly not
installed - but no error message appeared.
The Prerequisites for the OS update are:
Point release RaQ4-All-System-0.0.1-7657.pkg (Frontpage Fixes) and
Point release RaQ4-All-Security-0.0.1-8061 (glibc update)
yet these packages are also listed under 'Obsoletes These Previous Updates:
'
Do I have to install the now obsolete updates first (as they are prequiste,
yet obsolete)?
I thought perhaps the update was too large and I should copy it the RaQ and
then use the 'Loaded' option. I notice this was required for the 24MB glibc
Update 0.0.1, but it wasn't indicated next to the OSUpdate. If it is
necessary, do I have to load the updates onto my PC and from there onto the
RaQ, or can I load the file directly onto the RaQ?
I would be grateful for any help.
