[cobalt-users] httpd.conf Alias and Firewall Configuration Tool

Greets,

To anyone that might be interested, I found this Firewall Config Tool off SecurityFocus last night, and it gets high regards from other users for helping you configure a firewall with IPChains via an HTML front-end - here's it's homepage - http://fct.linuxfirewall.org/

But I'm stumbling with an httpd.conf alias configuration.

The setup of the tool is designed to be installed in the directory '/var/adm/FCT'. I created these directories and unpackages the files.

The instructions say to add the following line at the bottom of httpd.conf

Alias /FCT /var/adm/FCT-1.1.5
<Location /FCT/cgi-bin>
   Options +ExecCGI -Includes
   SetHandler cgi-script
</Location>

But when I restart http, I receive the following alias error:

Setting up Web Service: Syntax error on line 698 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
Alias takes two arguments, a fakename and a realname

I'm not understanding correctly how to configure this alias. How would I add this config information to access http://localhost/FCT/html/index.htm (which is the directory you're suppose to use for access according to the above configuration). It seems to me this would need to be slipped between one of the <virtualhosts> directives in httpd.conf so it could be accessable via http://localhost/FCT/html/index.htm...? Can anyone advise of the proper configuration for this alias..?

Thanks
Craig Napier
