I'm trying to reinstall PHP after having installed Webalizer 2. which broke
PHP due to the gd lib.
Setting up Web Service: Syntax error on line 31 of
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/lib/apache/libphp3.so into server: /usr/lib/libgd.so.1:
undefined symbol: png_set_dither /usr/sbin/httpd
So I attempted to install 1.3-5, but recv'd the following error:
# rpm -Uvh gd-1.3-5.i386.rpm
package gd-1.8.1-1 (which is newer then gd-1.3-5) is already installed
So I tried to remove 1.8.1-1 but was told I'd break these dependencies:
# rpm -e package gd-1.8.1-1
error: package package is not installed
error: removing these packages would break dependencies:
gd = 1.3 is needed by gd-devel-1.3-5
libgd.so.1 is needed by smartupstools-0.41.2-C11
libgd.so.1 is needed by webalizer-1.30.04-1
Does anyone know what "smartupstools" is used for...? I found it on
Cobaltnet, but I'm wondering if it would break anything else if I uninstall
webalizer, smartupstools, and gd-devel - then reinstalled gd-1.3-5 followed
by the reinstall of the others...? Does anyone have any suggestions, or is
there another route I should take to get PHP going again..?
Thanks
Craig Napier
