I have run in to an interesting problem (at least to me). We had a paid of
RAQ3i's with Staqware running perfect until we experienced a BIND Hack. We
did an OS restore on one of the RAQ's and kept it standalone so we could
keep the other one to compare things to. I restored some of the original
files from the backup and rebooted, but now if fails to mount since it is
looking for the /dev/md1 (mirror disk from staqware I presume) but we only
have /dev/hd1,hd3, hd4 from the clean load. I was thinking I would reload
staqware - but the volume is readonly since it won't mount. I would need to
get it mounted in order to load staqware. So, does anyone know how I can
get the filesystem to mount? I can get it mounted on another PC ok, but
unsure what to do next. I tried changing /etc/mtab to reflect /dev/hdx
instead of /dev/md1 - but it panic'd. I am trying not have to blow out and
reload again since there are over 100 sites and the recreate of the gui took
1/2 day.
I mention that a call to cobalt resulted in them telling me they could
"probably" help but not until Monday... (thanks a bunch guys!! it's
refreshing to see them live us to their reputation)
Any help, would of course be greatly appreciated. Suggestions of a better
backup routine would also be welcome.
Thanks!!
Eric
