OK, i've mentioned this about BIND, but I am having the same problems with the mtab and ncurses update. The interface returns an error about the rpms.
With BIND, I upgraded via rpm and got permission denied errors about not being able to unlink some files like dnskeygen, even though I was root. I found out that the files were immutable so I had to change that. and figure out which files the rpms were trying to move. However, with mtab and ncurses I don't know what files I need to make not immutable (would that be mutable). I guess for security reasons its best to have files in /usr/sbin /usr/bin and /usr/lib as immutable... fine, makes sense, but I cannot install upgrades.
Does anyone know why this would happen? This was never a problem before. I am hoping someone can help me to understand why this issue has arisen.
Thanks in advance.
