Which works fine on some linux boxes, and some unix boxes. Doesn't work
on Slackware, and on lots of other linux and unix installations.
Mine is quick and easy to install, and works on every installation I've
installed it on so far.

Ok. But NDC may or may not be in the path, and though so far it's
always been, in my experience, in /usr/sbin, I still like to install my
little program, which is always in the same place and always does the
same thing.
