[cobalt-users] email problems (seems I'm not alone)



 Dear List users,


 I have been at this problem now for a number of days. I have trawled the
archives
 and having found similar problems experienced by others, I thought I was
well
 on the way to understanding and a fix. Not so. I have also followed advice
given
 religiously by others.

 fyi
 * I have applied all updates and patches to the Raq4i
 * I have removed all virtual domains except one
 * I have removed all virtual domain DNS entries and rebooted.
 * I have added a new virtual domain  filling in fields such as email alias
field with "mydomain.com"
 * I have them entered into the email parameters and as no host/alias
appeared there , put "mydomain.com" in
 * Saved there and saved and restarted processes
 (a check of email parameters shows that the host/alias field empty again)
 * entered DNS records
  A-Record for mydomain.com-->IP address#2
  A-Record for www.mydomain.com-->IP Address#2
  MX record for mydomain.com --> host.myserver.com


 Problem:- can't receive email to user@xxxxxxxxxxxx
 Problem:-can't seem to enter alias into email parameter field to solve
above problem (disappears)

 Is there another way or a file within the op system that I could edit
directly.

 Please do not hesitate to send me email with your set-up if you are a user
who has it all working.
