Hi Guys,
Looking for some excitement this afternoon I decided to apply the Qube3
patches and updates to a non-production Qube3 Pro Ed.
Although only one of the patches is listed in BlueLinQ, I felt it
appropriate to install them in the order they are posted on the download
site even though the descriptions don't indicate any dependencies.
So starting at the bottom of the Qube3 download page I installed the updates
in the following order ...
Update: FTP through NAT 0.0.1 FAILED
Qube3-All-System-0.0.1-8737.pkg
26,387 bytes
Posted: January 11, 2001
Update: DNS Fix 0.0.1 FAILED
Qube3-en-System-0.0.1-8644.pkg
3,242,498 bytes
Posted: February 2, 2001
Security: Interbase Update 0.0.1 FAILED
Qube3-All-Security-0.0.1-9100.pkg
53,550 bytes
Posted: February 2, 2001
Update: BlueLinQ 0.0.1 installed
Qube3-en-System-0.0.1-9375.pkg
42,605 bytes
Posted: February 2, 2001
Security: BIND Update 0.0.1 installed
Qube3-All-Security-0.0.1-9353.pkg
3,125,736 bytes
Posted: February 9, 2001
For the hell of it I then tried the first three again ... they all installed
fine.
So this would indicate to me that the first three depend on the 4th. Anyone
else had the same experience?
Now my "Installed Software" lists the following additions;
BlueLinQ Patch This package updates BlueLinQ
functionality including ability to use
multiple BlueLinQ servers.
Qube3Patch01 This patch fixes several DNS issues
Qube3Patch02 This patch enables FTP connections through NAT
Qube3Patch04 This patch removes a backdoor in Interbase.
Qube3Patch06 Bind-8.2.3 Update
So the 1st patch release is actually called Patch02, the 2nd patch released
is actually called Patch01, the 3rd patch released is actually called
Patch04, the 4th patch released is actually called BlueLinQ Patch and the
fifth patch released is actually called Patch06.
So what happened to Patch03 and Patch05?
The BlueLinQ Patch could be one of them, but that still leaves a gap.
Cheers, Malcolm
