Howdy.
Today I generated a self-signed cert on my RaQ4(r).
It took at least 10 minutes for everything to start working properly again -
access to the GUI in particular (which is now secure).
Being as it took 10 minutes when I generated a self-signed on my other
RaQ4(i), I knew not to panic (too much) and just be patient.
But can anyone tell me why it takes so long to start working?
In the first couple of minutes, you can't get to the GUI at all. After that,
you can get to the GUI with the SSL prompts, and then you get page cannot be
displayed. After that, you can see the left menu starting to come up (with
lots of 'nonsecure' alerts about the images) but when it tries to load the
right-hand side page, you get thrown out yet again (or when it tries to load
alert.cgi for the active monitor).
Finally, after a good 10 minutes or so, you can get right in with no
problems. Strange!!
Just as a test, I went into the /home/sites/home/certs directory and renamed
the three files (added .bak extensions on them) and everything is still
working fine - now that it's working, that is.
I don't get it. Shouldn't it be screwed all to hell now that the files
aren't there? (Well, they're there, but with different names...)
