Hi Rodolfo,
Your idea is great. I may suggest you to try alternative
command prompt solution with PERL module.
The out come of perl script should give the following lines.
Thereafter you can manually or automatically add theses lines
to /etc/named/records with extreme precaution.
Then execute /usr/admserv/cgi-bin/.cobalt/dns/index.cgi
to restart the DNS.
Later you may use your cobalt GUI to verify/edit DNS records.

sample out come[valid for RAQ3]:
-------------------------------
soa - [DOMAIN]
ns1.main.domain:ns2.main.domain:hostmaster@xxxxxxxxxxx:10800:3600:604800:864
00 -
mx - [DOMAIN] High mail.[DOMAIN]
a - [DOMAIN] xxx.xx.xxx.xxx xx
a mail [DOMAIN] xxx.xx.xxx.xxx xx
a www [DOMAIN] xxx.xx.xxx.xxx xx
a ftp [DOMAIN] xxx.xx.xxx.xxx xx
a smtp [DOMAIN] xxx.xx.xxx.xxx xx
a pop [DOMAIN] xxx.xx.xxx.xxx xx
-------------------------------
