[cobalt-users] after update : pop-b4-smtp / sendmail problems

I restored a RaQ 3i this morning and installed the upgrades. Now I
encounter problems with POP-b4-SMTP... It won`t accept any mail for any
domain`s not on the Raq.

I remember a thread in the list dealing with the following problem, but
I can`t locate it in the archives. Has someone collected some bookmarks
to point
me to ?

Problem :

Customer`s using dial-up accounts for SMTP can`t send any mail to
domains
outside the Raq, only mail for local domains is accepted. Some customers
use
domains hosted on the Raq as sender address, some use domains
outside the Raq (worked before and it needs to work again, somewhat
urgent).

Log entries :
*************

unsuccessful SMTP attempt :

Feb 5 14:35:38 charlie in.qpopper[6063]: (v?) POP login by user "USER"
at (212.41.73.39) 212.41.73.39
Feb 5 14:36:30 charlie sendmail[6115]: OAA06115: ruleset=check_rcpt,
arg1=<USER@OUTSIDE_DOMAIN>, relay=[212.41.73.39], reject=550
<USER@OUTSIDE_DOMAIN>... Relaying denied

The IP is listed as a successful POP login, though :

[root@charlie log]# /usr/local/sbin/poprelayd -p
212.41.73.39 455

BTW, some other strange entries :

Feb 5 14:03:02 charlie in.qpopper[4288]: (null) at 212.41.73.39
(212.41.73.39): -ERR POP EOF or I/O Error: 29 (Illegal seek); 0
(Success)
Feb 5 14:15:05 charlie in.qpopper[4938]: Active_Monitor_69 at localhost
(127.0.0.1): -ERR POP EOF or I/O Error: 2 (No such file or directory); 0
(Success)
Feb 5 14:45:05 charlie in.qpopper[6607]: EOF from Active_Monitor_69 at
127.0.0.1 (localhost): [0] 2 (No such file or directory); 0 (Success)

Any idea what this could mean ? Why does the POP3 test from the active
monitor create different messages ?

After having had inode errors two weeks ago, several kernel oopses last
week, and this week this one, soon I´ll really gonna loose my remaining
(little) patience with the Cobalt...

Thanks in advance for any advice.
