Hy,

we're currently developing an new admin interface for the cobalt server, which 
needs no Apache running with root rights, bacause we're not happy with the one 
from cobalt.

It need's MySQL, PHP(as CGI) and PHPLIB running.

All changes a user made are stored in a mysql database and then be processed by 
a cron job.

The tool is not really ready for real life use, but you can test it (currently 
only in german) We plan to make the version easy translateable with a single 
file.

The following things should be supported :

Admin Area :

  Full Access to all areas of the system. All customers, emails and domains 
could be edited. (Currently no demo available)

Customer Area :

  A customer can modify it's own e-mail adresses, sub-domains, domains, 
maillinglists, forwarders. (live demo available)

Planned :

  Include Support to prottect directorys via .htaccess

User Area :

  A user can change his password, and create a vacation message.
  (currently no demo available)

A news system is included, so you can post news to your customers at the admin 
frontend.

We use an other directory structure for the sites than the guys from cobalt, so 
you need to change your whole system or use it on a new system if you plan to 
use it.

One positive point is that we plan to make it usable under GPL, so you don't 
have to pay for using it. But currently we're not really ready developing. :(
