Actually Brian, the changes between BIND 8 and 9 really depend on how you're using you name server. For the very few options that Cobalt provides through the GUI, I don't expect that BIND 9 would hiccup. The addition of IPv6 support is really just the AAAA and A6 resource records, so the zone files don't change if you're not using it (the v6 support).

I'm in the process of upgrading one of my RedHat boxes from 8.2.2-P7 to 9.1.0. Once I work through an issue with my named.conf file, I'll let the list know how different the configs really are.

I have no idea.  As for bind 9* it supports IPV6 so even though I havn't
looked into it yet expect some major changes to the zone files.
