Hello,
I'm having some problems, with restoring a raq3, I have the Cobalt OS3
restore CD, and have followed the instructions, but the darn thing will not
boot from the network when you press the buttons, I've tried crossover
cable, and a hub. I even hooked a serial console up to it, and got into the
boot ROM menu and selected "bfn" boot from network. It goes out, gets an
IP, from the dhcp server, then dies with nfs saying that it can't mount the
root file system (worked with both the crossover cable, and the hub). I've
tried several different ethernet cards on the ?server?. I am unable to
locate any of the *exact* cards listed as being tested and work. The one
(3c905B-TX PCI) I used and successfully gotten the raq to grab its IP is
listed under the "does not work" section with the qualifier "only works at
10mbs". Fine by me, i made sure that it wasn't, by using a 10mbs hub.
I apologize in advance, but I am unable to attach the exact error mesg, at
this time, because I need the box I was using with the CD for something
else. Give me a few hours, and I can do it. I hope that I have provided
enough to get started though....;-)
Thanks!
