I've discovered that having another Linux box on my home network is a
wonderful way to test (destroy temporarily) and learn about stuff that
then goes to my production servers. I'd be even happier if I could run
Linux on my personal computer and run something like VMware so I get to
use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at the same time.
This may also be a Good Thing (tm) for others on this list, who may find
benefit in having other Linux workstations around that aren't production
servers. (Which is one reason why I chose to put this on-list.)
Now, VMware sounds wonderful, and I've also found Win4Lin which seems
similar. But VMware has no 30-day trial, so... can anyone comment on:
* Which is better
* The difference between VMware Express and Workstation
* How well they work (they claim to emulate the *entire* Win98 PC and
thus to avoid all incompatibilities possible while running *any*
Windows98 application)
Thanks,
