Hello,
About 15 minutes ago I checked securityfocus and noticed that there is a
new Bind Exploit that affects anything prior to 8.9.*. On my Raq3's I run
8.2.2 (patch level 7), and named runs as root, Instead of changing it
around to run as chrooted I was hoping that upgrading to 8.9 wouldn't
affect the zone files, however since Bind9 supports IPV6 I doubt it would
be streamless. Is it possible that there would be a Cobalt specific
release for this? And if so any time frame. As of yet there isnt any
exploits written that I know of, However somthing this large affecting
anyone below 8.9 would be soon to be out.
