i have time to learn php and my sql and am wondering if anybody has any
nifty links for mysql and php for dummies...
There is a lot of stuff out there -- these are very well documented
programs and the community that uses and develops them is very
helpful and conscientious about spreading "the word".
Hmmm...actually, the (official) mysql documentation has a tutorial
that I think is very good:
http://www.mysql.com/doc/
and then go to number 9 -- "Tutorial" and go through it. You'll come
out knowing the basics for sure. The documentation itself is
exhaustive and searchable.
For PHP tutorials, I would say go to
http://php.resourceindex.com/Documentation/Examples_and_Tutorials/
and take your pick among the many on-line tutorials linked there
based on your specific needs (or just work with several of the
selections)
For alternative banner programs, in you need one, this same index has
a links page for programs at
http://php.resourceindex.com/
Also phpbuilder.com is quite good for code snippets and scripts.
http://www.phpbuilder.com/
ps: By the way, if you do web design work, learning PHP and mysql is
worth every moment spent and more!
Hope that helps.
Alfredo
