RE: [cobalt-users] RaQ4r backup to remote PC w/out static IP address?

Even if you do not have a static IP, as long as your IP is visible to the
outside world, you can use the IP your machine has. I have a cable model at
home and I can winipcfg or ipcfg to find out my current IP and lease time.
If the lease time is long enough then you can do the job. You can always
release the lease and renew getting you a longer life time. I have found
that my IP has stayed "static" during my 4 months of using it here in San
Diego. So even though you do not have a static, it tends to stay the same.

If this is completely off base then I apologize. But this has worked for
me. In fact I set my Network Solutions IP address for DNS to my home
machine while I was trying to work things out, and then switched it to my
wonderful new RaQ 3.

LOL,
