I have 2 retired firemen as family members that "sparked" my interest in
"Fire Prevention" and only recently have I been able to participate by
creating more public awareness about the dangers that we surround ourselves
with.
My friends in the country call me "Mr. Safety" as I have various areas
of experience there and I kept making everything safe during the
construction of the "Foam house". I do my best to control these things but
this an ongoing research project that I must continue to a degree. I have a
large supply of Pine here and since that is what most houses are made of it
seems the best test ground. I have been able to test several types of
materials used in home and building design.
We have a ton of wood to burn out there so we try to make large fires
whenever possible. One day my friend threw a can in but it didn't do much.
We then threw in more cans until we learned what works best. I'm sharing
and actually posting on this because I think it's important that people know
the dangers around them. Those old almost empty or empty ones in your
bathroom and utility closets or where ever are the most dangerous UNDER two
conditions that I will NOT share. The point is throw them out! They can
shoot up to 50 feet easy and sound like a firework.

The Foam house has incredible fire retardant properties. IMO The Roof
and Main floor/walls are the only things susceptible to fire and if the
firemen don't show up the walls will remain standing because there just
isn't enough wood in the place with the burn rates of the materials with
treatments. If there was enough wood and you tried real hard you might be
able to burn down a 6 inch concrete wall but that would be strange and might
take a while :)
To help in fire prevention ask your local "Fire Cheif" to distribute
information on "Prevention" in your schools, and on local cable channels!

The rewards can be great!
"But the work is fun!" and that's why I said "fun".

This a photo a a 3 inch Buck thorn (Tree) that took three days to burn. I
sure wish they could build houses out of it.
