Re: [cobalt-users] Pointers on log problems please

This happened to me also, on Jan 7... with me it was that something happened to the cron job that splits and archives all log files. /etc/cron.daily/logrotate

The logrotate file was missing, I just made a new one:
#!/bin/sh

/usr/sbin/logrotate /etc/logrotate.conf

Of course, be sure that /etc/logrotate.conf exists....

My problem now is that my log files are not being split up, but that just started happening a few days ago when I changed my httpd.conf.

Hi

The problem is on new RaQ 4 started September 2000. I have done little
more than add virtual sites - no playing with settings especially log
related. Plenty of disk space.

I have just noticed that all of my virtual site log files web.log et al
stop at 5th January at 4.02am !

A look at /home/log/http and there is an access.1.gz that is date
stamped 5th January at 4.00. (But it only contains entries for the 3rd
and 4th January). There is also a file "access" which has been keeping
tags on all entries form 4th January at 20.06 to the current time.

I am presuming that something went wrong with an automatic archiving of
log files. 4.00am is I understand a time when this sort of activity
occurs. I have looked at the cobalt knowledge base and list archive and
I am even more confused or found unanswered questions.

Has anyone else had this problem ?. Or could anyone suggest what the
cause might be and the best solution

TIA
