I'm a novice at installing CGI scripts on the Raq, and I've spent the last
hour or so trying to figure out why my CGI won't run. It's the config
script for Ultimate BB, and it gives an internal server error.
Problem's not the RAQ and PERL on the Raq has all the normally required files.
So it's usually...
1 -- What everyone else has said -- ownership of script by the site's
group and owner and upload as text.
2 -- What you're already checked (PERL pointer)
3 -- Also, if the script writes to any files, set the permissions for
those files properly.
4 -- Biggie! TRIPLE check your absolute paths in the configuration
files -- we don't use Ultimate BB but I believe this program has like
four or five of absolute paths and they MUST be absolute (if I
remember correctly). The error a lot of people make is to forget the
"web" in the path:
/home/sites/www.domain.com/web/cgi-bin/theprogram.cgi
If nothing works out, let the list know OR you can email me off-list
(since this probably isn't really a Raq problem) and I'll try to help
you figure it out.
Alfredo
