How do you handle the mail?? so that if someone writes to john@xxxxxxxx and
blah.com is an server alias of blah.net how will john@xxxxxxxx get it?

Better yet, read up on the ServerAlias directive for apache. Most of our
sites have the com/net/org variants registered and pointing to a single
website; this is how we handle them.
