Some seriously inherent bugs on the Cobalt RaQ4 (which
have been acknowledged by Cobalt) which I thought I'd
make RaQ4 owners aware of...
When you change the main IP number on a RaQ4, it will
not completely re-number the httpd.conf file for any
websites that share the same IP number.
This can have a _severe_ consequence at a later date --
particularly if you attempt to delete that site (say
goodbye to /siteadmin access for all the sites on that
server).
*** FIX: manually edit /etc/httpd/httpd.conf
and save before deleting any sites
As well, apparently double-clicking on a "save changes"
or "update" button through Internet Explorer will also
have the same effect.
*** FIX: none (try to avoid like the plague)
Finally, if you re-name a site and retain the old domain
as an email server alias, you will lose the ability to
send/receive email, as well as use email server aliases
(that line will appear blank).
This is because the GUI does not revise the virtusertable
to reflect the change in the site name, so the old mail =
records are still listed under the old domain name.
*** FIX: one of two options:
a) remove server aliases first, save changes,
then re-name site
b) manually edit /etc/mail/virtusertable and
search/replace old domains for new info;
through GUI, save changes to take effect
Patches for all 3 are apparently in the works.
