Hi,
I have installed the MySQL rpm (and all the other pakages need for MySQL and
PHP3, as described in many posts to this list) on my RaQ3 but have a
confusing problem.
It installed with no errors. It runs and I can create a simple database and
enter data into it (that is about as far as my database knowledge goes by
the way).
Reading through a tutorial on www.devshed.com, I found the following remark
:
"MySQL comes with a little startup script in
/usr/local/mysql/support-files called mysql.server."
I cannot find the mysql folder anywhere. If I type 'whereis mysql', I get
'/usr/bin/mysql' but if I try to 'cd /usr/bin/mysql' I get 'bash:
/usr/bin/mysql: Not a directory'
Is this me being stupid? Or maybe the RaQ .rpm installs itself in different
folders?
Thank you for your time and assistace.
