We now have 2 RAQ's (RAQ2) and need to use the 2nd for SECONDARY DNS. Can
someone please explain the steps in each machine's DNS parameters to do this?
Here is our current setup on BOX 1 (Primary ns1.dj.net). Is this correct?
----------------------------------------------------
accountexecutive.com uses secondary nameserver ns2.dj.net
accountexecutive.com ----> 216.97.117.130
www.accountexecutive.com ----> 216.97.117.130
216.97.117.130/17 ----> accountexecutive.com
accountexecutive.com ----> mail is sent to the High priority mail server
www.accountexecutive.com
-----------------------------------------------------
And on BOX 2 (Secondary ns2.dj.net). Is this correct?
-----------------------------------------------------
accountexecutive.com is served by IP address 216.97.117.129 (*this is the
IP of DNS1.. not individual domain, right?)
-----------------------------------------------------
The "Secondary Namesever Record" and "Secondary Nameservice for Domain" is
confusing me. Do we have the above correct?
We repeat this process for every domain?
Thanks for any help!
Brian
