A stupid question about mailing list. I have created a list named "tm" but
i don't know how to send email to the list. Is that i only need to send
email to tm@xxxxxxxxxx ? I tried bt no message received. thx
You're talking about a Majordomo list, right? Set up using the GUI, right?
On a Raq3 (don't know about anything else) a mailing list "belongs"
to the site in which you created it -- not the domain. For example,
mail to the list would be:
tm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
If www's the "hostname" of the site.
Also, I'm assuming that you have created subscribers to the list and
that whoever is sending this email (for example, you) is one of those
subscribers (unless you configured it to accept mail from
non-subscribers).
If you're starting to work with majordomo on the RAQ and haven't seen
these, here are two "basic" resources that will at least get your
oriented:
The majordomo commands tutorial (this is in many places but...):
http://www.marketing-magic.net/tutorial_majordomo.htm
And just one of the many postings of the cosmically famous Majordomo FAQ:
http://www.visi.com/~barr/majordomo-faq.html
There's also a GREAT mailing list for majordomo users linked from:
http://www.greatcircle.com/majordomo/
So that's a good place to ask questions of any kind or to search
archives for past answers. I've found everything I ever wanted to
know about Majordomo there.
