Sounds like there's some sort of POP before sending authentication scheme
going on for remote users. If that's it, what happens is that legit users
from networks that normally would not be able to send mail through the box
POP their mail first. That tracks the fact that it is a legit user, and
that that user is coming from a particular IP address. With this
information, relaying *from* that IP address is allowed for a short period
of time. I.E. these people need to POP their mail first, and then try to
send. <shrug> Not sure if that's what's really set up, but it sounds like
it.
