In a previous message posting a short tutorial on my experiences with SSL I
wrote:
PLEASE NOTE: It is a good idea to immediately delete the certificate from
the SSL Settings GUI after you copy it. Just so you don't forget.
THIS IS NO NOT GOOD PRACTICE.
Do NOT delete the Certificate request that you generate. I didn't know this
at first and I thank Bryan K. for flagging it for me.
The reason is because the Certificate, after you get it signed by Verisign,
has to be paired up with the csr (Certificate Signing Request) that you
generated. If it is not there then your new SSL will NOT work at all. That
would require you to re-create a new csr and resubmit it to VeriSign.
I apologize if this previous posting messed anyone up. This was my first
time doing it.
Thanks,
Brian J. Coughter
