You mention "sending" attachments here. Are you sure it might not be
a problem with sendmail? Can they send the same attachment to
themselves via your server and retrieve it successfully? You could
also have them send an attachment to someone on your server, then use
a server-side MUA to extract the attachment directly on the server,
then download the attachment using FTP to see if it was corrupted
during the send phase.
