If you make changes to /etc/named/records, and then click on "accept
changes" from the gui, you'll be all set; the pri* files will be created
for you.

If you can figure out the /etc/named/records file layout, you're all
set; it's actually pretty easy.

We do, but it bypasses /etc/named/records, and therefore is completely
incompatible with the Cobalt gui; any changes using our scripts will
completely disappear if you use the GUI to maintain DNS again.
