Me, I just explain it this way:

* IP's are scarce resources and thus, in one way or another, expensive. The
ARIN rules prove it and will make life difficult for those who "waste"
scarce resources eventually. So I'm saving my customer money.

* There is no real need for more than one IP for the server functions of any
domain, unless they're so darn large that they eat an entire server. What's
the benefit of getting 30 right shoes in a pair if I only get 1 left shoe?
So I'm being honest rather than offering irrelevant benefits.

* Every IP is a window to the world. More windows, more ways for burglars to
get in. Nuff said; I'm keeping my customer safe.

By the time we get through this, no one *wants* their own IP. :)
