Which MUA are you using? Cobalt includes pine, elm, and mail. My guess
is you're not using any of these, but instead you're using Eudora
Version 5.
I have no idea if Version 5 allows it; my recollection is that Version 4
does, see ExtraHeaders in the manual. However, you can't set them at
send time, only on a per personality basis, so I'd recommend you set up
a personality just for the purpose (you can set up ExtraHeaders in
Eudora personalities that only work for individual personalities). If
you send email to regular user (not a list) with this personality, that
user will be able to look in your email's headers and find your
majordomo password.
However this still may not work, since what majordomo really likes to
see is no headers added at all. For that you really want to just create
a file holding the message, in linux, using the editor of your choice,
and send the file directly to sendmail. Which is WAY beyond the scope
of this reply.
Now, here's what we do when using Eudora to moderate:
We copy and paste the entire incoming email to a new email, including
all the headers that came in with the email (they'll appear in the body
of your bounced email), and then, right above those headers (it must be
at the top), insert:
Approved; whateryourpasswordis
Then just send the email to listname@address. It should work from
Eudora.
