Here is what I do to fix this (another) stupid RaQ problem.. (Hope Cobalt
will fix this ASAP !!!)
I will create 2 Virtual Sites for a client.
1 - www.client1.com (host: www domain: client1.com)
2 - client1.com (host: client1 domain: com)
1 is for Web Pages ONLY.
2 is for users all client1 users accounts.
I'm not sure this is what the original poster's talking about because
he mentioned the default user page and what it says. But, since your
describe your workaround, there's a simpler way to do this. This is
for Raq3; I've no idea if it works this way for other machines.
You sent up one site for that client. Put all their users on it.Then
set your mx records this way:
domain.com -------> domain.com
(no hostname at all just the domain to itself).
In the settings for the website, just click "email for this domain"
or whatever your machine's GUI uses to have the site pick up the
domain's email. Your users will receive email as user@xxxxxxxxxx, can
use that return address and, barring blocks from their ISP's, they'll
be able to send it through that domain as well.
Saves you an extra created site and is much simpler.
