[cobalt-users] 'www' in email address

Being a newbie in such matters I have followed my RaQ provider's
instructions to the letter on adding DNS entries.
Everything appears to be working fine, and I'm able to send and receive mail
at user@xxxxxxxxxx etc. However, when I checked on the default users page
that RaQ conjures up for each user created (www.domain.com/~user/), it
states that "Your e-mail address is user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx".
How do I get rid of the www bit in the address? Specifically, what do I need
to remove from the DNS records to show email addresses more conventionally?
Thanks in advance.
