We are using a set of front end and back end scripts for our
automated sign up process. One script accepts all the orders, 
mails the customer a welcome note and writes the order to a
file. This file is then picked up by a cron job that creates 
the account using addvsite and adduser scripts and miles the 
account data to the customer. Let me know, if you want to have 
a look at it.
