Hi, I've not paid much attention to the apache logs since I moved over to Raqs, occassionally reading
something on here about them not working, but to busy transferring sites from my other co-lo's over to
raqs to spend time taking it further.
Now, a customer is demanding to see logs on a weekly basis, to appeaze their backers. So its time to look
into it.
I have probably got 40 or so sites transferred over so far, so it is something I knew I;d have to do at
some point.
Anyways, what do people suggest as best way forward. I hear a lot about Webalizer (and associated
problems) and have also just come accross the demo for AWStats (http://awstats.sourceforge.net/) which
looks very good.
Anyone had any experience with this software? Comments, what needs configuring to run it, etc.
Will running said programs nightly dramatically effect the Raq's performance? How many virtuals can it
run for?
Is it better to download the logs and do it locally with something like FunnelWeb, rather than waste
valuable server power?
The client in question needs to know country of viewer as a priority, and I'm sure there was talk about
this not working. Again, what were the details.
I have had a brief look through the archives, but not really any clear answers.
Hope you can help
