Hi,
I managed to fill the root partition on my Cube 2
and as a result none of the commands eg, ls, rm,
vi, du, etc would work. All reported an error.
I couldn't even use the LCD to power down. So, I powered
down and then Cube 2 refused to go beyond the Starting Up
stage.
So, I removed the drive from the Cube 2 and took it to
work with me and installed it in my Linux box at work.
I mounted the partitions and cleaned up some space.
Laeving me with 70% usage on the root partition.
I also took the opportunity to buy a new larger hard
disk (30GB ie. < 32GB) and created a new partition
structure and copied all the files from the original
disk to the new one.
I brought both home and tried the new one. No joy,
it still said "Starting Up" and nothing else.
I put back in the old one (with the free'd up space)
and tried booting off that with the same result.
Other than making some free space on the original
disk (when in my work machine) I don't think I changed
anything else.
Can anyone suggest anything? Other than going back
to using an i386 machine that has external devices
like a CD and scrapping the Cube!
Jason.
