I'm still going to answer this on-list since someone else may be looking for
an alternative to Network Solution's BS:
I'm using Dotster now for all of my registrations. http://www.dotster.com
$15/year, discount if you bulk register lots of domains or pull in so many
domains per month. You can even get some software so that people can sign up
straight from your site - I've looked it over but haven't tackled it yet; no
biggee, I'll do it by hand.
Registering is super-fast and easy after the first time, all of your basic
information is saved and filled in for you. They call it "QuikReg". Just a
couple of screens, enter in your credit card info, and you're good to go.
Doesn't even take 3 minutes.
As for maintaining the domain name, Dotster blows NetworkSolutions away.
It's all done online, just point and click - none of this "mail-to" crap
that usually doesn't work with the receiving NS server. I've noticed that my
Dotster domains switch over and propogate *much* faster than the ones still
left on NetworkSolutions do, also.
So I would recommend them. Also, another list member is doing bulk
registrations - has probably gotten in touch with you already - and it's a
very good deal. If he hasn't gotten in touch with you, let me know (off list
this time, LOL!) and I'll forward his mail to you.
