[cobalt-users] RAQ3 DNS and name server questions

Greetings to all on this list. Having just recently set up my first RAQ3, I
am a certified RAQ3 newbie and have just recently joined this list.

I have a few questions concerning the DNS service in general.

First of all, the DNS service is started and, following the manual's step by
step procedures to create entries, I have been successful. In fact, if I
configure any computer to use the IP of my RAQ3 as the primary DNS server
(in the DNS server search order) everything works like a charm and all
domains on the RAQ3 resolve beautifully.

The problem is that when I use my ISP's primary DNS server, nothing
resolves. I have created a host at Network Solutions called ns1.nsgoin.net
(I own the domain 'nsgoin.net') and have given it the correct IP address of
my RAQ3 - 207.160.192.2. That is the same name I have given my RAQ3
(ns1.nsgoin.net)

I have modified the DNS information for two domains, changing the primary
name server from a previous hosting provider to my RAQ3 'ns1.nsgoin.net' as
of two days ago. I have not changed the secondary name server (it still
lists the old hosting provider's secondary name server). In fact, the
domains are STILL resolving to the old host.

It is my understanding that the secondary name server is only querried if
the primary name server has a problem or if entries for a domain do not
exist there. Is this correct? Am I not waiting long enough for propagation
(two days) even though the correct servers are listed in a whois querry?

I apprecaite everyone's expertise and advice.
