Dear All,
I've studied the manual, and it seems relatively easy to configure DNS & I found the document at
http://teamcobalt.interliant.com/faqs/setupdns.shtml answered all my questions apart from one!
What is the benefit for us running DNS and our own Name Servers?
At the moment I simply buy a domain name from our Nominet account, provide ns1 and ns2 records,
from our colocated hosts and forget about it.
Is this correct or should I be bothered about running the primary or even both name servers?
The reason I have to ask is because we are front end developers and have no experience in hosting,
and our reason for choosing a rAQ was for providing us control, in which it has succeeded.
We dont aim to be a major domain name supplier but simply want to provide our clients with a professional
service, so is running DNS going to be any benefit to us at all?
Your comments on this would be interesting!
Many Thanks
Justin Williams
