RE: [cobalt-users] Problems w/ Cobaltracks.com

I have a scenario I'd like to put forth for everyone to think about.

How many time a year does Cobalt put out packages that break our machines,
and then turn around and say "Oh no, WE didn't break your machine, YOU broke
your machine. We're not going to support you, or give your money back, or do
anything to fix it"?
How many people on this list buy servers direct from Cobalt, assured that
they're getting a brand-new, top-of-the-line working product, then have to
fight with Cobalt to send the units back and get them replaced?
How many people are leaving Cobalt servers all together and migrating to
Dells etc. because of the problems, lack of service, and lies?

Now, Tom Surmiak is telling us that Cobalt sold these units to him at a
discount as RaQ3's with a RaQ4 OS. Cobalt is saying no, we didn't.

I *know* that Cobalt lies and covers their a$$ whenever someone catches them
doing something. Many of the rest of you know that, too.
But in this instance, you are so ready to believe Cobalt, the big company
infamous for bad service and lies - over Tom Surmiak, the little guy who
could be caught up in another of Cobalt's cover-ups.

Think about that and ask yourself who's more likely to be lying. The little
guy, who's going to be out a lot of money, customers, and reputation because
of this; or Cobalt, the big company who couldn't give a good hoot if they
lose a few thousand dollars and third-party clients and who know their
reputation won't be damaged whatsoever if even a few hundred Cobalt users
got together and cried foul?

Michael, you say that you were shut off today because you've been so vocal
about this - "as retaliation". There are MANY of us who've been very vocal
about this, and none of us have been shut off as "retaliation". Just
curious, were you running an IRC server?
