Re: [cobalt-users] Problems w/ Cobaltracks.com

Heres what I got when I emailed tech support and my sales rep about the
outages:

-----------------------------------
To all our Cobaltracks customers,

This week Cable & Wireless, our primary backbone provider is performing
infrastructure upgrades. You may notice small service outages of a few
minutes during this process. We will be adding additional circuits from
other providers as well to minimize these sort of problems in the future...

TechSupport
------------------------------------

I do have to wonder, when the future is in "these sort of problems in the
future".
So, today my servers been just fine, no netwhistle reports of outages and we
have it set to check it every 15 minutes until such a time as we feel that
it is reliable, since I apparently am locked into a 6 month contract and im
only on my first month with them, I suppose I could bite the bullet, take
the lost of $900.00, first three months paid in advance of $99.00 per month,
then three more months of $199.00 per month and find another company to
provide me a raq or I could just stick it out and take it on face value that
they are doing what they can to minimize these disruptions. I have read in
webhostingtalk.com that in the past they have claimed that they were
upgrading their connections, but that was months ago, and I have yet to see
anyone happy from them or report that they have sucessfully upgraded their
connection. I think they should also update their site, redesign it, pay
someone professional to redesign it, hell, give me 6 months free server a
$1200.00 value and I'll update their site myself, yes i do web design and it
was my primary business before getting into hosting.

Also I find it funny that I received this notice, yet when I queried another
company that is hosting on their servers, he said he received no such
message and he was frustrated since he told them to "send me ALL notices of
service outages".

Oh well, I guess I'll have to make up my mind at some point over the next
couple of weeks before I pick up any official webhosting clients.
