Hi Steve,
This works with the following exceptions:
* The server monitoring functions (indicator light colors) report
having no data (they report grabbing data every 15 minutes and haven't
grabbed any).
* As you mentioned, no virtual host stuff is available
* The file .s.PGSQL.5583 is recreated and needs to be continually
manually deleted as the symptom returns.
I have to join in with the folks here who are upset that this was made
available without extensive testing. What's worse is that there was no
notification that installing this package would require a reboot. Talk
about panic! Guess I'll go back to installing updates at low traffic
times and after others have had experienced the heartache we're now
going through. I applaud Cobalt for trying to get security patches out
ASAP - it's the obvious lack of testing that's killing us. If they're
looking for volunteers for testing, I bet a lot of us would volunteer to
run duplicate boxes (only content mirrored) and assist and report on the
results.
Thanks to all for your help.
Best regards,
Mark
===================================
Cobalt have fixed most of the problem:
This is what they did
"basically a file called .s.PGSQL.5583 creates in /tmp and thats what
causes
the server error all you have to do is delete that file"
Unfortunately there is still a minor problem in that the virtual site
list
wont come up and they are working on that and should have it resolved
shortly and I will post details
Best Regards
