There is also a tarball version available from a private FTP site for those
Cobalt customers that purchase the product. We are currently working on
getting a PKG format put together as well. It will be included on future CD
releases so that it can be installed via the Cobalt browser interface. In
which case, you would have the CD loaded on your browser machine and not the
server anyway.
As for the mail component that is included with IIS 4.0. It's an extremely
stripped version of the CDONTS "new mail" functionality. It was not
included in the original release of IIS 4 as far as we can tell, and was
added in a service pack. It was something we overlooked. The marketing
statement "Chilisoft is a technical mirror image of ASP on NT" is a true and
factual statement. The mail component is an additional component of the IIS
web server and not an inherit part of the ASP server. We do not make claims
of matching IIS functionality. However, we do try to match common
functionality that is used by the majority of the ASP development community.
This is why we have ported many common components used by Microsoft
FrontPage customers, and provide those free of charge. More components will
most likely be added to the product in the future as well.
If any Cobalt customer feels they have been mis-lead in this area, we will
work with you to provide the Chili!Mail component as a stand-alone
component, separate from the SpicePack product. Please send an e-mail to
tech@xxxxxxxxxxxxx providing proof of purchase of your Cobalt RaQ4 product,
or proof of Chili!Soft ASP purchase if you are using a Cobalt RaQ3, and we
will work to help you out as quickly as possible.

Both Chili!Soft and Cobalt have been closed for the Thanksgiving holiday
here in the United States. This reply is being sent within one hour of
being received. We apologize for the perceived neglect.

hmm, I'll check up on this and get back to you later.

The CD is just a method of delivery. The software will need to be copied
over to your RaQ via the network and installed.
