Re: [cobalt-users] Scared!

Have you ever logged on a web-based e-mail and sent an e-mail with it? You
could handle it? You got no problem? Then you have most of the competences
you need to deal with a RAQ. For creating virtual sites, users, managing
mailing lists and anything like that, it's oh so easy. Now if you have a too
little experience on linux, don't even think about trying to install things
like php, mysql,... Not that it is very hard, but RAQ machines are very
sensible...

Last week, we had to restore the whole server twice in a row because of
this:
First time, i think it is because i had set the 'pop before smtp' timeout to
a way too long delay... The whole thing crashed, and i couldn't do anything
with the web interface, it had corrupt the databases.
Then, after the restore, i reinstalled all security and update patches from
cobalt.net, and php and mysql... All that BEFORE adding any virtual site.
Big mistake, the web interface was dead, yet again...
