[cobalt-users] Images in cgi-bin directory; Apache wants to exec them

I have taken over and moved a site from a Debian Linux system to a RAQ4i.

Most things are ok, but I'm seeing the Apache web server seemingly trying
to exec image files that are in a subdirectory of a cgi-bin directory. The
script runs, but attempts to include some images generate these errors in
the logfile:

[Thu Nov 23 21:24:38 2000] [error] (8)Exec format error: exec of
/home/sites/site1/blah/blah/cgi-bin/images/mast_right_space.gif failed
[Thu Nov 23 21:24:38 2000] [error] [client 207.114.9.226] Premature end of
script headers: /home/sites/site1/blah/blah/cgi-bin/images/mast_right_space.gif

Before I tear into all the other guy's scripting (sans comments, of course),
maybe someone can tell me how to turn *off* attempts to exec things that are
within a subdirectory of a designated cgi-bin directory. I've tried adding
an .htaccess file with "Options -ExecCGI" in the images directory, but this
didn't make any difference.

Thanks.
