Thank you for your response.

NO. the host name for our box used to be "raq7.atoznet.com"
and was recently (right aobut the time majordomo quit
working) changed to "ns1.atoznet.com". I note that the entry
for majordomo in the virtusertable says
"majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxx majordomo_site1" and also that
ns1.atoznet.com does not have "accept email for domain"
checked. (When I try to turn 'accept email' on, it says
"another domain is accepting email for this domain" because
"atoznet.com" is listed as a mail server in the dns... I
hope that makes any sense)

I'm a little confused about that.. all of our lists are
labeled "site1", "site2", etc., rather than the actual
domain names... but in any case, yes, there are several for
"site1" which is "www.atoznet.com" . I believe that you are
saying that I should be sending majordomo commands to a list
rather than majordomo itself, which I understand from the
faqs. However, two things come to mind: 1) I always could
send commands to majordomo directly before, and 2) when I
send commands to a list like "test@xxxxxxxxxxx", everything
bounces to the server admin(which is also me)...
administrivia usually handled that before.

Unfortuantely, I get "user unknown" replys for
majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxx, and
majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx before the host name change, I
could send to any of the existing addresses.

I appreciate your bearing with my amazing lack of knowledge,
and thank you for your time.
