In a month long epic, I accidentally removed the contents of
/var/lib/cobalt (but not the contents of /var/lib/cobalt/uninstallers).
This is the directory that held the md5 lists of installed packages.
Didn't think that it would have caused any problems until I tried
installing the latest packages... Seems that problems abound. Tried to
install previous packages again, and ran into more problems (complaints
that previously installed packages are not there).
Anyway to rebuild this list correctly?

(Oh -- it's possible to 'fix' the problem of the ever expanding status file
in the /var directory -- that was the central player in this crazy month
long epic -- just delete it and reboot... the box rebuilds it ... Would you
folks at Cobalt put this in the KB?)
