Found a new bug/peculiarity tonight. A customer emailed, said an alias
domain was not passing the email to the POP box as it is supposed to. I
tested it and he was correct. The email sent to alias@xxxxxxxxxx never
showed up in pop@xxxxxxxxxxx
Alias ------> POP3 box Not showing up in the POP3 box.
I had a hunch.... I went to SITE MANAGMENT :: DOMAIN NAME :: SITE SETTINGS
The Email Server Aliases box was empty. Being the 'trial and error' type
of guy that I am, I typed in domain.com (without the www) in this box.
I then sent an email to alias@xxxxxxxxxx and then checked the email
using the pop@xxxxxxxxxxx
Low, and behold, it worked. Now, I can't explain why, but it worked.
So, to sum up, it seems that the Email Server Aliases box must be empty
before you can add an entry in the HOST/DOMAIN ALIASES box under Control
Panel.
It also seems that EMAIL SERVER ALIASES must have an entry for domain.com
without the www before email aliases will work. Catch 22?
Funny little machine, this RaQ4.
